Oh that is so fucking witty. Why is it a nuisance? Because it does not do what the US wants it to do? It is a diplomatic forum but it is also 2 dozen NGO's that accomplish quite a lot.
I think it's a nuisance because many of the members are extremely anti-American, they were the ones behind the Oil For Food scam, and because governments that violate human rights are on the Human Rights Commission. That's just a few examples.
You mean goverments like ours that violate human rights? And just another thought, prehaps if we spent more time trying to improve our country instead of trying to impose our will on the rest of the world, then the world would once again see as a world leader like they used to.
The overall opinon of the United States has taken a sharp decline in the past 5 years...gee I wonder why?
I think it's a nuisance because many of the members are extremely anti-American
And? The US is anti a lot those members. Considering some of the US's actions in the last 100 years, does it surprise you that some peeps don't like you? What do those shit-fests have to do with the UN? Is the UN responsible for anti-Americanism of Cambodia carpet bombings or terrorism?
they were the ones behind the Oil For Food scam
uhm no. Several nations were behind the O.F.F. mess and the US supervised quite a lot of it. The actions of some do not reflect on the achievements of the many. I suggest that you think about that before I consider that abu graib is representative of the nature of the US.
Also, look up under who's watch the O.F.F. shit happened and note that several US companies and individuals were involved.
because governments that violate human rights are on the Human Rights Commission
The US has a long history of violating human rights as does Israel. What is your point? How is the UN responsible for those actions? The US does not get to decide who gets to be in the UN nor do you.
as a diplomatic forum, it doesn't bother me, diplomacy is always a solution, on some level (whether violence, or just talking), but as an agency that has designs on world government, as an agency that cedes sovereignty over every nation in the world that is a member, and by leeching off of every nations resources, I find it atrocious.
but then again, to me, world government is a bad thing, I guess that's the difference
I love how people pretend that Israel has been "idle" and innocent of everything going on in Lebanon, when just last month a secret Mossad cell that had been organizing the assassination of public Lebanese figures for years was exposed. Is this not a hostility?
Oh, and the cartoon misses the point: that Israel is not killing the cat that scratched it. (yes, scratched)
No, those are entirely different. Though I'll tell you, after the exposition of this Israeli assassination cell in Lebanon, the number of conspiracy theories regarding Hariri's assassination went through the roof--with good reason too.
This last month: http://www.aljazeera.com/me.asp?service_ID=11476
An investigation carried out by Lebanese intelligence recently has uncovered a “terror network” that was used by the Mossad to carry out attacks inside Lebanon, mainly against Hezbollah and Palestinian resistance groups.
Yesterday, the army issued a statement saying: “The terrorist network has been active in Lebanon for several years. Its members received training inside and outside Israel and were equipped with the latest tools and techniques used by Israel's Mossad to carry out assigned assassinations in Lebanon".
And this just in: http://www.dailystar.com.lb/article.asp?edition_id=1&categ_id=2&article_id=74112
Over 20 people have been arrested by the Lebanese security forces for spying for Israel and pinpointing targets for its warplanes in the southern suburbs, local and international outlets said Wednesday. Reports emerged early Wednesday, picked up from an article by a German news agency quoting an anonymous Lebanese security source as saying that a 26-member network was caught giving signals and information to Israel.
Cats > Dogs... Cats just kill pests and rodents. Dogs kill things like cats and people. Although, this particular cat was quite obese, so he probably just couldn't run away fast enough... poor piggy boy. I still hate people who let their dogs run around without leashes, though. Irresponsible.
a pro -Israe one who would have thought! yes we have a right to fight - but in this case at this point some restraint would be REALLY good. Where as back in the day when we used restrint and didn't kill Arafat - that was a mistake. Now we have proved our point and power its time to not only leave Gaza but get the hell out of Lebanon before we have that war all over again!!!
