what the fox said. this is just in poor taste. it's one thing to lampoon a figure who can defend themselves - it's another to kick them when they're dead
Tell that to all the people who lost their savings, their pensions, their kids college tuition and their homes because of this man's greed. He deserves what he gets.
yes, i recognize he did horrible things, no one's contesting that. however, why does that give you (or the artist) license to be cruel, vicious, disrespectful and generally hateful. the man's was tried, convicted and is now dead. he's payed his debt - let it rest
Did he really pay his debt? Yes he's dead but has anyone gotten any money back? Have the lives broken by his actions been made whole? No.
Compaired to some of the outright venomous attacks I've seen in print, I think this is relativly mild and lighthearted. I also think that the cartoon is trying to express that despite his convition, nothing has really changed.
his company, life, legacy, name, family, and heritage is broken and will be synonymous with corporate corruption for generations. there's not much more a single person can give in penance for their crimes
as for the relative level of this cartoon's acid or vitriol, ¿why does it matter? just because other artists seek to be even more tasteless doesn't change this cartoon's lack of quality. i'm all for black, sardonic, or twisted humour, but this is just cheap - it's not even clever
now, if you really think the artist was trying to say something with this cartoon, well i'll just have to disagree with you. i certainly agree that, overwhelmingly, corporate America hasn't changed because of the Enron scandal, but i really don't think that's what this cartoon was trying to portray
I guess we are going to have to agree to disagree on this one. I find the cartoon to be clever, twisted and wonderfuly spot on and I do feel that the aritst was trying to convey a deeper message with this cartoon. You have expressed your disagreement and disgust with this cartoon and it has been duly noted.
Actualy I go after the guy in the relavant cartoon we are discussing at the time. Oh and saying that Kenny boy has a "few eithic problems" is like saying Bush has a few problems with english.

His corpse is rotting in the ground(maybe?) and there is no need to be respectful of it.
