From my response to the previous C&F cartoon:

"As for Israel and Palestine, I say our interests there are dangerous to Americans, as are all our interests in the mid-east. The Israelis are one ethnic group that comes from a bunch of tribes that have been fighting over that scrap of earth for thousands of years. I was listening to a lecture the other day which brought up an interesting point--Israel does not learn from its history, in terms of treating Palestine the same way as they did Lebanon.

I guess when some people act irrationally it provokes a chain reaction and the whole world goes mad.

What are you talking about?? treating the PAlestinians they way they did in Lebanon - everyone knows of Sabra and Shatilla - no one believes that was okay and nothing of that sort has been repeated and if you want to get technical with that we didn't ACTUALLY do the slatter the Christian Lebanese group did. And some people act irrationally nice way to refer to the Israeli's - you really need to include both sides if you want to be anywhere near truthful!! Everyone complains about how the ISraeli's treat the Palestinians but I really don't hear many suggestions of other ways to deal, I mean how would you solve all? How would you deal with the Palestinian situation (economy etc) and violance??

The reference probably is not directly to Sabra and Shatila, but the Israeli idea that brutal, collective force will somehow end violence. Yeah, it doesn't work, and it's not justified.

don't immediately go on the defensive--I didn't say anything about right or wrong. I said that if you don't learn your history you will be doomed to repeat it, and it seems that Israel is not acting in a manner that will get them anywhere long term.

oh and isn't the ELZN thing pretty over I mean Chiapas didn't get to seperate - I don't remember hearing what happened with the leader "Marcos" I believe was his name. It was definatly an interesting plight.

cartoon gets a boo. why are we the big foot? there are far more arab countries I'm pretty sure the bigger foot goes to you guys and speaking literally considering we are small people and you guys tend to be 6ft plus.

The title of the post is "Their [the Palestinian] perspective" not "The Israeli Perspective."

1. yes aware but just because we did doesn't mean most needed to be against us - I was saying that not so much that their are Arabs countries, but more there are far more countries against us basically.

2. true one of the richest but its not much considering what a rich country is the mid east is - there this plenty of poverty in Israel. and true we are U.S. backed but people take that soo far we were not always U.S. government back - and I believe we need the seperation but thats a story for anyother day.

3. I wasn't taking the david and golith in the literal sense - the reference was completly sarcastic! The david and golith story is like a broken record if you ask me. I mean when Israel was established they were seen as David now they are seen as Golith - also an arguement for anyother day.

you will have to forgive me is this is incoherient - I cant sleep packing and moving to Israel is overwelming tehe
