I don't get the fervor over "break the Da Vinci Code" stuff.
Uhm, hello, fiction?
Crappy fiction, but fiction nevertheless.... Then again, I have gotten into arguments with people who think the Vatican dislikes The DaVinci Code because they want to cover up the truth. o.O
I think if it had just been the book it would have passed without mention, but everywhere you turn on TV there are all these specials and programs that are using the book/movie as a sensationalist grab for ratings, presenting the stuff as if it were plausible.
I've also heard that the book says all the history is true in the front of it.
The fervor is because Dan Brown presents certain things as facts within his fiction book. A large percentage of Brown's "facts" are demonstrably false. Particularly the whole "Priory of Sion," of which the extensive "records" he cites have been exposed as deliberate forgeries for a long time.
It could be that Brown is just taking the words of "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" (the book he basically lifted his conspiracy theory from) and not deliberately deceiving people. But if this is the case, then the fact that he claims his facts are well researched is irresponsible.
I'm afraid all the people responsible for "The Da Vinci Code" must die. I will strike them down with my sword, in an expression of God's® love! Cause nothin' says lovin' like bloodthirsty religious-inspired violence.
Matt 10:32-37 (http://) here's the rest of the passage: a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.' "Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;
Second part is mostly true, but I don't need to imply that it's a violent religion. I don't deny Christianity has had a violent past. I just find it odd that Islam is touted as a religion of peace, and how they act is counter-productive and hypocritical.
Sorry i didn't take pictures of the one that took place at the church down the street JUST for you, but google is a great tool.
i just googled "Burn DaVinci Code" and plucked at random two that came up. If i wanted to do more of your research for you, i would refine this a bit and find more local stuff as i suspect you wouldn't call it "valid" until an American did it.
Christians are ALWAYS getting up into kerfluffles about fictional novels. Harry Potter was the last one to gain international crap over, and now it's this one.
Frankly i'm surprised they didn't get into an uproar over Dogma, which also centers around the idea that Jesus had babies.
i'm not sure. There was that speech in the woods about all that missing time where teh Bible doesn't talk about Jesus and what would he have been doing during that time.

“FACT: All descriptions of artwork, architecture, documents and secret rituals in the novel are accurate."
