Like the basic human right to steal someone else's social security number and indentity, as some illegal scumbag did to an American-born hispanic friend of mine, and ruin their credit history?
Oh right, I feel so sorry for these criminal twits and the dipsticks in Congress that actually just voted to reward and continually encourage this sort of behavior.
America has a basic human right to defend its citizens from foreign invaders.
My friend got jack-shit charity from the system, and she was the freaking victim.
Please. I never said they have the right to commit crimes and not pay for them (they do, however, have the right to commit crimes, just like Americans do). I'd predict that 'actual' Americans are involved in and conduct this kind of identity fraud much more often. I'm not going to make my opinions of the whole issue based off of some unfortunate occurance of crime to some friend of mine, yours, or anyone I know or don't know. That's unreasonable.
I knew a German once who killed a bunch of jews. We shouldn't let any Germans in our country.
Everyone crossing the border illegally is committing a crime. What is unreasonable is the suggestion by the left in this country that somehow this is the same as coming here legally.
I'm fine with it being a crime to illegally cross the border. But a crime punishable by sharp shooters and death, as this cartoon, and many conservatives, suggest? That's unreasonable.
We don't kill rapists. We don't kill child molesters (unless they committed a crime like murder along with those acts). Are their lives more valuable than a couple of guys looking for work because they happened to be legal or natural-born citizens of the United States?
More valuable morally, and legally. Just to specify, since they're not the same thing.
Well, I do think the "lead" part of the graphic was meant tongue-in-cheek to some degree. The underlying message that it is conveying is that people committing illegal acts to come here should be punished rather than rewarded for their criminal acts.
But, I actually do not think it is unreasonable to shoot someone in the act of committing a crime, especially if they refuse to comply with orders to stop. And I don't think it is unreasonable to shoot foreign invaders. And when massive waves of people cross the border uninvited, without approval, the numbers could very well reach a critical mass where "invasion" would be the only rational term to describe the migration.
And, if it were up to me, the US would punish rapists and child molesters with execution. Execution should not be the punishment for someone caught and tried for illegal immigration, however.
These guys may just be looking for work, but they commit crimes in doing so, with little regard for their victims. Personally, I'm really tired of people suggesting that there are not very real ramifications and consequences to ignoring, or even worse encouraging, this criminal behavior, or that the only people crossing the border are otherwise all hard-working, completely moral migrants. Heck, congress and the president are totally disregarding the number of gang-members coming across, or the effects of these "immigrants" on society, especially in poorer minority neighborhoods.
I do not put natural-born lives over those of foreigners (my ex, for instance, was foreign-born, not even a citizen, but living and working here legally). I put the lives of criminals as less valuable than those of law-abiders, regardless of nationality.
Right. Private property, get off my lawn. This cartoon is extremist bullshit, if for no other reason than that crossing a national border without permission isn't the same as moving into the country illegally.
