I have some reservations about him. At first, he sounds like a dedicated candidate, promising to never give us up (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Never_Gonna_Give_You_Up) and that he and America would be together forever (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Together_Forever_(song)). Shortly thereafter, his commentary takes on a dangerous tone of dependency and insecurity, insisting that we take him into our hearts (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Take_Me_to_Your_Heart_(Rick_Astley_song)) and hold him in our arms (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hold_Me_in_Your_Arms_(Rick_Astley_song)). When this fails to satisfy him, it's not long before defeatism sets in and he flip-flops on the whole issue, giving up on love (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giving_Up_on_Love) and then claiming he never knew it (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Never_Knew_Love) in the first place.
All of this happened roughly within the equivalent time span of a single presidential term. I don't think we can afford to have someone this unstable in the Oval Office.

And he was pretty popular in the US in terms of record sales (not number one singles or albums, mind you, but still...)
