As long as the Republicans have the House, the Senate and the majority of governorships, and aging white men refuse to turn out on election day if Hillary is the nominee, the Republican party is far from dead, unfortunately. And it only takes two Republican appointments to the Supreme Court for them to hold sway for the next 30 years.

One party or another is declared dead over and over. In time, the GOP will learn to be marginally less horrible in some ways, remain horrible in others, and the cycle will roll on.
