That letter from the mayor reminds me of the saying: You can ignore everything anyone says before the words “but” or “however.”

Then I foolishly continued reading. Suspend aiding refugees until the hostilities end… yeah, let’s not help the refugees until the people who are killing them behave.

Thankfully, George Takei can make the mayor look like an ass while plugging his show!

George Takei is a good person, and I think this mayor is misguided. However, the mayor is also a bit power hungry and he showed his true colors by issuing his statement on city council forms without even talking to the council. There is a petition to get the mayor removed (or at least draw attention to this issue), it can be found here:
