Don't worry!

If you don't like it, you can keep your old healthcare plan!

I gather from this notise that this is your old health plan. If you don't like it, enroll in your state's Affordable Kare Akt Plan.(please note that the letter ab d does not work on my komputer) Or konsider having a deduktible of some sort. Both your plans are quite unusual in that you have no deduktible for either dental or medikal. Your kosts would be lower with a deduktible.

I love the spelling here. I feel like I ought to use as many words with the letter "c" as I can, just to make you jealous.

I, uh, have no comment on the substance.

back in the early oughts my family had health care from BCBS and we had a deductible, less RX co-pay and our premiums were more than this picture. We paid about $1000 per *month*

I, too, have had difficulty grappling with the way the world continues to change despite my best efforts to keep everything exactly the same year after year. I mean, if only Obamacare didn't exist - your premiums would never have gone up so much in a single year. Right? It's the only plausible explanation.

I know, right?

We don't even have Obamacare (my husband has been lucky enough to get pretty decent insurance from his work--and hang on to his job, through the recession and everything). And yet our premiums AND deductibles keep going up--go figure!

My daughter, otoh, is a different story. Thanks to the Obamacare Medicaid expansion (and the fact that our state had enough sense to participate in that), she's had health care for a while now, after being uninsured for several years.

Anecdotal evidence of course proves EVERYTHING, lol.

I've been to the doctor a dozen times in two months. I've had half a dozen prescriptions, seen two specialists, and now have ongoing physiotherapy and psychotherapy.

The prescriptions cost $6.80 each and the physio and shrink are $30 a pop.

This is what happens when your country decides "the market" is not the best way to provide healthcare.

Filthy communist.

If we had single-payer healthcare, next thing you know, Stalin would rise from the grave and start sending US citizens to the gulag! GULAG I SAY!

Pffft, y'all don't even have guns How first world is that?

It's not like with all these guns we would ever need socialized medicine or nuffin.

--Oh, I took Canadian.

Why?

--Mainly the charisma bonus. And the healthcare. Clean air. Pristine beauty. Actually representative parliamentary system.....

(The 3rd segment of this is also great, the 1st segment is a lil worse than the others tho)

The coriolis effect affecting drains is a myth, just like market based health care being efficient.

The drop bears are very real, however. They will fuck your shit up.

They're huge and territorial, so easy to avoid, like crocs, same with the yowies. Hoop snakes, however, those fuckers just come out of nowhere BAM teeth to the face.

I don't know what to tell you.

I got a rebate last year because the ACA.

And your argument is specious, as it doesn't show any connection between ACA and what your health insurance company is doing.

Why is insurance premium based on 2-month period? Why not a yearly or a monthly rate? And what is "RX"?

Date: 2015-11-08 06:04 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hindustar.livejournal.com
RX usually means Prescription drugs. From google:

℞ is a symbol meaning "prescription". It is sometimes transliterated as "Rx" or just "Rx". This symbol originated in medieval manuscripts as an abbreviation of the Late Latin verb recipe, the imperative form of recipere, "to take" or "take thus".
