Rand Paul has always got plenty to say for himself.

As long as you don't ask him TOO many questions...

He's a tireless champion of our freedoms (the freedoms HE approves of, that is).

Especially our freedom to pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps.

And our freedom to expose our children (and those of everyone else) to dangerous diseases without the protection of vaccinations.

His caring and concern for the needy know no bounds.

His concern for the civil rights of ALL Americans is equally bottomless.

No wonder the kids are so crazy about him.

Rand Paul...just the candidate we need to lead us into the future!

The 19th century was a very good century!

I can seem him as a shrewd vice-presidential pick to appeal to tea-baggery and the young, self-styled libertarians, provided that he shows some electoral muscle in the primaries and caucuses.

While I can't stand the man, I actually hadn't seen the racism points before.

He is one of those libertarians who says they should not have passed the Civil Rights Acts, because businesses should be free to serve whom they please.

He's much lower-key about it than his father, but that doesn't take much.

For those from/in US: do you really have such low opinion of your compatriots that you believe that the only things stopping them from discriminating by race is federal enforcement?

I'm not in/from the US but if the Jim Crow Laws are anything to go by, yes, federal law is the only thing stopping racial discrimination on a large(r) scale. If the wrong people got power America would be right back to the outside toilet for the 'help'.

Yes. Without any doubt.

In my lifetime, I have seen rocks thrown through windows and crosses burned and my own family had N lover spray painted on our house and cars.

We've seen it first hand, so absolutely.

There are some people who are racists and that's what they believe-they are called democrats.

I see 'TeaBag' and know subconsciously that it should be 'TeaParty' but my brain still reads it as if nothing is amiss. I wonder if that says more about me or them? Hmmm...
