I can't tell if this woman is a feminist hero for helping empower women or an anti-feminist for helping spread the crippling idea that women somehow need to marry a man.

Neither.

This post and this woman are symptomatic of a culture that encourages females, from an early age, to "catch" their man, wed, and have children. Ergo it has nothing to do with feminism, and everything to do with the patriarchy.

The lass selling these is just exploiting an existing market and is an entrepreneur. Hooray capitalism and caveat emptor.

Yep. Though do women really hold onto their pregnancy tests for that long? And that reminds me I need to take my BC pill.

I feel pretty lucky that our two kids don't have them in the numbered fucking boxes detailing their lives.

Fucking Caligula didn't have as many portraits of himself as SWMBO demands of the children.

No wonder the self-centred little blighters grow up spoiled. What they need is a dose of reality. Which is why the English upper classes traditionally sent the spoiled little brats to brutal boarding schools.

Why can't we just get the balance between indulgence and discipline right?

Not that I'm worried or projecting or anything...oops did I say any of that aloud?

SWMBO?

I once got myself into big heaping trouble by telling a new mom that there was no point in taking so many infant photos because newborns have all the individuality of bread loaves.

Actually, I've checked...and each is in the first box. Never mind women...parents hold on to them. [Deep Burning Shame.]

yes, I did. Because it was originally a new and exciting thing that I wanted a memento of then later just because something to laugh about. Eldest son thought I was nuts when he saw them. I love making him ashamed of his mom. Most times I'm totally not the sentimental type so he was also confused. Bonus!

That was definitely my assumption.

Using this protocol, she can crank out as many as she can sell for the remaining months of her pregnancy!

That's a perfectly legitimate fetish in other cases, why is it bad now?

I kept the one for my 2nd because I took it on April 1, 1998 and I wrote a giant APRIL FOOL!!! on it in black Sharpie lol.

We all get a laugh out of it, even the "April Fool" himself, who just turned 16. :P

Neither. IMO she is reinforcing the inequalities in reproductive rights that favour women and possibly is an accessory before the fact to fraud.

that is really gross, tbh. And besides the fraud angle, isn't it illegal to send bodily fluids through the mail?

agreed, and yes, it is illegal.

What I find odd is that she has the same type of test looking all fresh and new. My tests are all four different types and even kept in a box they began to look less than fresh within a couple of years

Such deception is pretty uncool. I want confirmation before I believe this is a real thing though.

I cannot find a FB group called "No drama and no rules for hallett & cleveland area".

I'm guessing this was made by a man.

Oh, but c'mon, the OP is just certain that this mean awful woman is buying tons of these things at the store and then peeing on them and selling them. Don't ruin his fantasy!

What fantasy? If "Rebecca Robbins" is not merely a hoax or a troll, I'm sure that's what she's doing. Think about it: if she buys a whole bunch of pregnancy tests and pees on them, then sells them at $50 a pop, she would make a pretty fair profit. And she could keep it up all through her pregnancy, as long as there were buyers.

I have a LOT harder time imagining the people who would buy such things. Or how ANYTHING good could come of conning a man into marriage via such a tactic.

EDITED TO ADD: Okay, I hadn't scrolled down far enough in the blog when I made this comment. Now I get this. But don't forget, I said "If "Rebecca Robbins" is not merely a hoax or a troll" (emphasis on "if")...so I have an out! ^_^

It's such a weakly thought out hoax post. Sure, one could purchase a positive pregnancy test to trick someone, but when you don't, ya know, start being pregnant in the next few months, things are going to get rather awkward.

Not likely.

You'd need around 1.9m ebola victims to suddenly move there to even have a chance. Ebola is pretty darn uncatchable unless you are a doctor.

Now, Measles, on the other hand... that shit spreads like crazy and has a pretty good chance of killing even healthy people.
