Newest conservative "media" outlet to check out for lulz and "facts."
PJMedia and Michelle Fields, who ambushed Robert Kennedy, Jr. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDKWRRnS-BQ) at the People's Climate Change March in New York City this past weekend. Ambushing and red herrings are her "journalistic" style, later this week; she also ambushed Representative John Lewis. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y49MYRbBaNY&list=UUWq53_f3zgMcWuE-XFKSpyQ) and asked if Democratic policies in cities such as Detroit and Chicago are serving African Americans' interests. Lewis knew he was being set up, and so he walked away from her. Fields is a regular panel guest on Fox News. She seems to flame bait people, then makes a tone argument when they push back aggressively.
The comments on these videos are beyond your wildest dreams. Make sure you have had a few cocktails before you check it out.
I got to say, Huffington Post has really been effective in doing something about their commenting system. The requirement you have to use a logged in Facebook account has cut the bullshit down almost to zero. I always thought it odd that a portal, designed mainly for moderate to liberal users, would have so many trolly and outrageous comments from far right conservatives. Turns out conservative think tanks and PACs were using multiple accounts to spam any political commentary websites they could find, particularly on global warming. One person showed this in one example, by tracking the IP addresses that showed at least several accounts originating with one computer at some conservative operation in Washington, D.C.
I don't know what Google can do to fix this issue for Youtube, particularly since some time ago, Google required users to link their commenting to a Google Plus account, or create a Google Plus account if they didn't have one. Clearly that's not working, e.g. if someone is referring to John Lewis in extremely racial language.
I sometimes frequent a couple of Lib boards, and the paid advocates are rampant there. They have gotten harder to find via Facebook login, but generally speaking, an account that only has a couple of postings, and they are all "Hurr-durr, Democrast are dum!" and links to ultra-rightwing stuff... those are usually the fake accounts.
But shut down the comments. Don't give them the platform.
