Frequently Asked Question #75. How do I hide part of my entry behind a link? What is an lj-cut?
An allows you to hide all or part of your entry behind a link. The part you is hidden on your main journal page and on Friends pages, but you can still see the full entry on the "Read Comments" page, when you preview your entry, or when you view your entry by following the link on the Post an Entry confirmation page.
Rich Text editor: Highlight the text you want to cut, then press the button (). In the dialog box, you can replace "Read more..." with another word or phrase to link to the entire entry. HTML editor: Type before the text you want to hide, replacing "Read more" with the word or phrase to link to the entire entry. If you want to start showing text again, type after the text you want to cut.
Damn, LJ acting up again - for some reason it showed open on my f-page
They have a new feature that opens the cut inline (loading in your friends list, not opening the post page itself) if you click the cut, maybe that's what happened?
