Good evening, readers and users

I need to conduct a survey: for scientific work (national political issue). I'd be glad of your help!
- Does anybody know about kurds? If yes, what exactly do you know or heard? and where?
- Maybe do you have any friends - kurds?
- Are you aware about difficult situation on the east by the (Unlawfull activity of Islamic group and etc).
- Do you know what attutide Kurds have in this situation?




Every information will be usefull :)

I am at work now and don't have much time, but really, I don't know anything other than what western american media has told me. From what I can tell they are between Iraq and a hard place. (Sorry, american colloquial joke.)

What the survey about? Doesn't make sense to a survey in place like this, at least to me.

Madam_Shapo, Well.. If under my text is one comment at least, so my survey has sense sense and the place to be. Good if you met them! Could I ask your opinion about them ? about political situation?

Yes, you could. My favorite teacher was Kurdish, my boss is Kurdish-great guy. Everybody I met, were very nice and successful people. But I can speak only about people I know.
I sympathize with them, as far as political situation is concerned. However, they never had a statehood and I'm not sure if it's good idea to allow the creation of Kurdish state, especially in that part of the world where 10 nations have claim for every inch of the land.

There is truth in your words. Some orientalists consider that with the emergence of Kurdish state the Middle East will become all the more dangerous and bloody.. and the blame isn't in kurds. It relates to the land (as you correctly pointed) and oil. Important to say, that within historical Kurdistan are the greatest deposits of oil (fr I'm not mistaked, the second place in the world).

Well.. TO be honest, at first time I had listened that song. It fully reveals the tragic story of kurds .. Even with a cheerful melody)
And it's so sorry, that the only things that you have heard about Kurds are from Western media. I have doubts, that these things are truthful... )
About how can I answer..)
Well I'm Kurdish and within the framework of Russian realities I learn the Kurdish problem and issue.

I'm glad, that my post makes you watch that documentary film. And I'm generally happy, if at least one person in our world had known a little more about kurds. Initially, the meaning of my post (and all my scientific work atthe same time) - to allow to more and more people know about this numerically small nation.

Mahabad Republic was a good try. North-Eastern territories of Syria are now in fact self-governed. Iraq falls apart.
So, I guess, Kurds have a good chance of making an independent state soon.

Absolutely right!
Indeed, considerable territory of Syria (the north side) totally controlled by Kurds now (means protection, supporting of life, political power etc.).
Iraq in terrible situation now, you right.. multiple genocides. Although, if to be more precise, the whole world in a terrible situation(
I consider, Kurdistan will appears , throughout 20-25 years, from pieces ( Iraqi part, Syrian part, Iranian part and Turkish part at the end).
