Yeah, it's depressing to me. I've migrated from active LJ community to active community, so many of them now dead, and every time the events precipitating the community's collapse had largely to do with capricious over-moderation. Convert_me. Philosophy. I expect that's what we're seeing in T_P right now. You mix up the pH balance with too much moderation of substance, and people just drop the community and move on.

Jeff complains about all of the "insults," but the alternative isn't some orderly community where everyone limits their comments to careful reasoning and careful refutations.

politicartoons is why I joined LJ. convert_me was one of my great pleasures. T_P has to some extent replaced convert_me in my affections.

My interest in political art and cartoons has been with me since I first saw a Carl Giles cartoon in the early '60's. This place is special to me, though I still miss Latuff.

Well, at least no-one proposed wayneforbush08 as a mod. What's happened to this comm's sense of humour?
