Because of Obama’s purposeful dereliction of duty an untold number of illegal immigrants will kick off their shoes and come on in, competing against Americans for our jobs and limited public services. There is no end in sight as our president prioritizes parties over doing the job he was hired by voters to do. Securing our borders is obviously fundamental here; it goes without saying that it is his job.

The federal government is trillions of dollars in debt; many cities are on the verge of insolvency; our overrun healthcare system, police forces, social services, schools, and our unsustainably generous welfare-state programs are stretched to the max. We average Americans know that. So why has this issue been allowed to be turned upside down with our “leader” creating such unsafe conditions while at the same time obstructing any economic recovery by creating more dependents than he allows producers? His friendly wealthy bipartisan elite, who want cheap foreign labor and can afford for themselves the best “border security” money can buy in their own exclusive communities, do not care that Obama tapped us out.

Stop looking into the Deadlights!

Seriously, we finally got Heidi & Spencer out of public awareness, the Kardashians are on the way, now Sarah Palin, Mrs. Irrelevant 2008 needs to go.

Short version: Sarah Palin doesn't know a fucking thing about the operation of the federal government nor does she actually care.

Border? Won't get funded due to GOP obstructionism. Infrastructure? Same. Offshoring of labor & capital? The GOP straight up gave tax exemptions to corporations to do both.

Conservatives see nothing but problems and their only solution to blame. When they're in power all they do is start wars and give tax cuts to people who don't need them (the rich & corporations).

Oh you did NOT just give me an adorable Japanese monkey-finger!

Apparently Rick Perry declined a tarmac hand-shake with the President and conservatives are besides themselves with stupid glee. I hope the next Republican President gets the same treatment this one has. A see a State of the Union address where the Democratic caucus whips out vuvuzelas for the entire time. Why not, right? No respect for the office, just unending partisan hatred.

Border.
Don't you think that the latest wave of illegals was induced by the executive order "Dreamers"? Let's say we sit somewhere in third world and hear that children will be allowed to stay in US. What would we do? I would sell all my belongings for a train or airplane ticket, no airplane ticket won't work, bus ticket and head to the boarder.

If I'm not mistaken, Perry said that he wants to have serious conversation, not a handshake. Somebody translated it into "declined to have a handshake".

There's an immigration reform bill that House Speaker John Boehner won't allow to come to the floor because it would pass. Enough Republicans would vote for it but it can't be allowed because of the hostility the GOP has for the President.

This is the short version why we can't have progress or solutions. Or nice things in general.

I absolutely agree. However right now he is the one that has the job, he promised to fix the problems, instead he made them worse. That's all.

No and your hypothetical makes no sense. There's some 11 million undocumented people in this country, you make it sound like South America is going to show up on the Texas border asking for free stuff.

Congress won't secure the border. The GOP refuses to deal with immigration reform but won't make a bill to secure the border because they don't want to pay for it nor do they want the fallout from voters.

He didn't make them worse, and any executive orders he issued are because the GOP refuses to do their jobs as legislators.

The prayers for rain failed. Perry can wear glasses if he wants but retains the intellectual capacity of a coconut.

Do you know what's in that reform? As far as I know, they want to add a border security to the bill, but dem-s refuse to do so. I wouldn't want any reform without border security, because that kind of reform totally pointless. That would be plain amnesty, nothing more.
We can't have progress because vast majority of politicians work for themselves and themselves only, right? Sarah might be one of the rear exceptions, though she is not even a politician anymore.

Because he declined the handshake. They are going to meet later. Perry is a lame duck governor of a state where the governor has almost no responsibilities except dream of higher office. Which thankfully won't happen for him.

How does a handshake decrease the likelihood of a serious conversation? Conversely, how does NOT shaking hands with him *increase* the likelihood of that?

You might not be mistaken, but you are confused.

In my opinion we 'll be in a much bigger one soon.

Sarah might be one of the rear exceptions

She quit her elected job as Alaska's Governor mid-term so she could rake in money on the speaking circuit.
