Well, we don't know why he wore that shirt. It's entirely possible all of his other t-shirts were dirty, and this one was just one someone handed him sometime.

Since he's white and (apparently) conservative, we should assume that he has no specific racist intent until we have direct access to his mental processes confirming otherwise.
