Actually, China overtook us in 2006, and our levels have been (more or less) steadily dropping. We are still number two, but India and Russia are catching up.

But hey, any excuse to say "we must shrink the Federal Government!" right?

No I haven't. The USSR doesn't exist anymore. It was the worst. Now the US fed gov is.
