Except that private charity is personal socialism, just as religious charity is religious socialism. See Hayek for details; all charity is a type of socialism.

As a libertarian, I would not expect you to engage in, promote, or want to be promoted by any entity any type of charity/socialism.

It sounds like you need to change your expectations, because that's not even commonly the case. I am pretty much socialist, and even I can see a clear distinction between donating towards a charity of your own free will, and being forced to pay taxes that go towards charitable causes.

Well, all ideology making that sign almost impossible in NYC aside...look at the lettering on the sign. Even with budget constraints, there's no font for use on a sign where the letters are offset by an attempt to angle the text onto the surface using a really cheap graphics program.
