The social contract is just majority rule with elaborations. You'd think progressives would be opposed to majority rule, but instead the mock the idea that majority rule is immoral. Sad.
Show me a country without a social contract and I'll show you hell on Earth. You're attempting to warp this into some description of majority-based tyranny and I'm pointing out that a society caring for its own is near-universal in application.
I don't find the majority rule too brutal. I mean, I can walk around town saying "there is no God" Sam Harris can make outrageously boisterous claims and to my knowledge, Sam Harris doesn't receive death threats for it.

Yeah, you've seen me argue exactly that, haven't you? /snark
Look, do you suggest we remove "majority rule with elaborations" (ie,the social contract) with majority rule without elaborations? Or do you suggest we have minority rule? What exactly are you suggesting is better?
I don't think anarchism really works--or if it does work it winds up being just some form of communalism. How ya gonna keep people fed at those nuclear reactors? Some system will need to be established and you will need a community to take care of community needs.
Once you have a community, rules will be set up. What do you propose we do to figure out what rules to establish?
Oh, well if YOU can't conceive of a better system than 50.1% imposing their will on 49.9% by force, then that ends the discussion. Too bad your mind is wasted on lesser things than unraveling the mysteries of quantum physics. We'd have faster-than-light-speed travel by Wednesday.
I'm asking YOU to tell ME if YOU have thought of any better system. Since you choose to make fun of me instead of enlighten me, I must assume that YOU FAIL when asked to come up with a better system too.
I agree with your overall point, but regarding Sam Harris, he does get serious death threats.
