I was homeless in my mid and late teens. I saw many children in their teens whose parents were buying them all kinds of stuff as they lied, cheated, and stole from them. Then they would tell me how lucky I was to be emancipated and how having their parents was such a drag. I just wanted to grab those kids and tell them how good they had it - how spoiled they were.

tbh i used to play outside all summer as a kid and i ended up on welfare, and it had NOTHING to do with being lazy
