The Onion, 2001: Marilyn Manson Now Going Door-To-Door Trying To Shock People (http://www.theonion.com/articles/marilyn-manson-now-going-doortodoor-trying-to-shoc,459/)
When's Sarah Palin going to step in and condemn her like she did Rush? http://voices.yahoo.com/rush-limbaugh-retard-comments-making-sarah-palin-5423403.html
Hey, it's not just conservatives who hate the word retard. I'm about as far left as they come and I find the R word to be one of the most, if not the most, offensive words in the English language.
The most powerful attack so far on Ann Coulter for calling President Obama a “retard” during Monday night's debate comes from John Franklin Stephens, a Special Olympics athlete with Down syndrome who wrote an open letter to the conservative pundit. While Coulter clearly has a limited vocabulary, Stephens shows that his condition does not keep him from crafting an abundance of intelligent, carefully chosen words: “You aren’t dumb and you aren’t shallow. So why are you continually using a word like the R-word as an insult?” he asks Coulter. "No one overcomes more than we do and still loves life so much. Come join us someday at Special Olympics. See if you can walk away with your heart unchanged.”
Looks like somebody has a new book to publicize. I'd rail against her but by now I just feel kind of sorry for her. The offended will get over it, but she'll have to be Ann Coulter for the rest of her life, and what worse punishment is there than that.
