I can't figure out what play on works Fluked is supposed to be. Obviously the F-bomb, but what else?

The Georgetown Law student shown in the picture, who, according to Rush Limbaugh, is a prostitute because she is in favor of birth control being covered by insurance, has the last name Fluke.

Fluked, rhymes with duped.

I think she is eloquent from what little I have heard her speak.

Certainly not full of hate like those who heap scorn upon her unfairly.

LOL, that is weak. Obama would love it if we looked at the economy; it's improving.

Edit: And oh wow, the post this comes from is quite the chucklefest as well. (a) Democrats weren't the ones who made a big deal out of the mandate in the first place, (b) tax dollars have nothing to do with this, (c) you kinda have to have already gone through undergraduate to get to law school, so it's no shock to find that she's thirty and already has a degree or two under her belt, (d) there's no earthly reason why anyone would deliberately lie about her age (really, what advantage does her point have if she's twenty-three?), so the only plausible explanation is a reporter's mistake and not a Liberal Conpiracy—23 is the date she testified, by the way—and (e) why on Earth wouldn't you get someone with experience in policy analysis and feminist, gender & sexuality studies to testify with her opinion and observations on the effects of a policy that may be sexist? Apparently the only honest, non-"radical activist" thing to do was pick a woman at random just because she's a woman and force her to speak only about herself, and then only if this issue has nothing to do with what she's studied in school.

I know you and your gold would love for that to happen, shorty, but no.

Now, have we addressed everything and gotten it all back in order and on a right course before getting the economy growing again and unemployment down? No.

it was never really about religion, except that it was about religion wanting to control women. The very fact that some people simply can't see that the issue could affect multiple constituencies at the same time explains why the GOP is so tone deaf about this.

Never was. I have in on the authority of a very knowledgeable Catholic that there is no religious mandate requiring that Catholics prevent non-Catholics from acquiring birth control, nor is it a sin for Catholics to contribute financially to non-Catholics acquiring birth control. Quite the opposite, in fact.

It was never about religion because there is nothing in the bible about contraception or abortion. Some of my friends have cited the mysteries of "Catholic Doctrine", but they are unable to explain those doctrines. Therefore I do not need to listen to their argument.

My understanding is that there is a specific document that John Paul II wrote which affirmed their anti-contraceptive stance, and since the pope is basically God-jr, that's that.

Numbers 5:12-31 and Hosea 13:15-16 is generally accepted to be about abortion as punishment for unfaithfulness to either one's husband or God.

I'm reading this on a tablet and touched the image...which took me right to where Mel posted this originally.

Holy shit, talk about the mental loop-de-loops it takes to think like that. Okay, Ms. Fluke is a young female law student -- she may very well be liberal. To suggest that her college major and apparent interests make her some kind of super-spy plant out to extort something, who knows what, from the conservatives is BIZARRE.

Limbaugh wasn't tricked by a thing. He went eyes front right into the helicopter rotor. How the HELL can Melvin be slobbering about conservatives being VICTIMIZED by this when one of their loudest and most-followed representatives WENT RIGHT INTO IT when he had the full choice to keep talking about the mandate instead of about sex?

And now we find ourselves watching a woman, who at thirty, with an Ivy League degree and in Georgetown Law, cannot keep her financial house in sufficient order to afford birth control.

She's been pitched every possible opportunity in life, and whiffed them all. I most definitely want to ensure that idiots like her are given free birth control so they do not breed.
