This cartoon basically says "if you lost your job & home, or maybe just have a problem with not getting a raise in 5 years while your boss is wiping his ass with $100 bills, you might as well be an America-hating communist who rapes, murders, suicides and shits on police cars."

Clearly the bloke on the right is brilliant hacker or programmer (all top hackers and programmers I've ever known look like that) who earns 7 times more than the suburban closet racist with his own corporate booth on the left.

I just wonder why the cartoonist needed to engage the brilliant programmer's parents twice in the cartoon, maybe some projecting?

So, yeah, it was kinda hilarious, particularly the logic between rape/murder/suicide/government - it's like a secret little retro-homage to those last shivering moments of the Cold War 80's, only with American commies instead of USSR ones.

Also, this cartoon is like one of those pieces of wonderful IKEA furniture, where you can make one thing into fitting two completely different purposes. This one is easy to switch on, basically a child can make the brilliant hacker the hero and the suburban racist the villain, oh looksie, I'm halfway there already!

Choice of signs: Ramirez found the one guy at each event with an atypical sentiment. Tea Party guy without a racist hate spew, and OWS guy who actually hates capitalism.

"No violence" = police don't attack him.
"Employed" = sort of, but higher percentage of OWS hold jobs.
"Has a family" = knocked up his girlfriend 30 years ago
"Loves America" = except for its government and half its citizens
"Has a point" = look under his hat
"Sense of entitlement" = thinks he has constitutional rights
"Violence" = hits police in the club with his face

This is faily fail.

Wants less government - OK gramps your turn to pave the roads is Wednesday. And Social security and Medicare - what are those? FDIC insurance when the banks go belly up, nope.

No rapes murders or suicide. No just encouraging folks to shoot at Senators, shoot at the president, burn down moscques, commit hate crimes.

Employed - yeah one nice job with benefits. Unlike a lot of folks who are working 3 jobs and barely making ends meet.

No violence - except against minorities, gays, women who want to have reproductive freedom. And what about all those militia folks your group has been linked to?

Self sufficient - yeah, right. Remember, starting tomorrow, no more medicare or social security. Oh, and your day to shovel snow off the streets is...any day it snows.

Loves America. As long as its white, straight, middle class with a three car garage. Uppity women, minorities, gays, disabled can just get the fuck out if they don't like it.

Has a home. Yes the geezers bought their houses when one middle class or working class job was enough to support a family of four. When home prices weren't inflated due to speculation and improper lending. When you didn't graduate from college with more debt that their houses cost them.
