I'll take "things the rightwing media talks about a lot that don't actually exist in reality" for $200 please Alex.

Ooh! In that category there's gotta be at least these answers:

Rightwingers are "prejudiced" to believe that if they disagree with the policy positions of the President, anyone who doesn't agree with them will call them this.

and how about

"A belief that a multi-national and multi-generational conspiracy to illegally install a godless muslim communist black man in the White House is proven true by the State of Hawaii's refusal to release this."
(note: the question must contain "long form" - if it doesn't, the player will be asked to 'be more specific'")

And!

"The Presidency could be theirs for the taking, if only this half-term Governor wanted it."

Also!

"War, lethal injection, the electric chair, and lynchings are all acceptable forms of killing another human, while this procedure, involving the removal of non-sentient cells from a woman's body, is considered murder."

Hey, this is fun.

I haven't seen any fallout for the Dems from the ACORN scandal. ACORN hasn't fared very well but nobody's put up a credible claim that the Dems are in any way tarnished by it.

As for the other ones, typical Republican hit pieces designed to create a scandal where none exists. At least the artist is better than the ones lather usually posts.

And who is the kid supposed to be? And why is he wearing a fur coat and carrying a golf club?

I think it's a cane, but still, why is he dressed like a pimp?

If he's supposed to be a pimp I guess it's a reference to the Republican Party activist whose video was used to destroy ACORN. Though I'm a bit unclear on why he's portrayed as a kid instead of as a 25 year-old Republican operative.

There are 20 somethings who work in reporting, not all reporters are 50 year old men. Regardless, he's not a kid by any stretch of the imagination.

The kid has the full power of the Republican Party and the media apparatus of Fox behind him. His movie was bankrolled and hyped by Breitbart, one of the biggest conservative blogs out there. Not to mention this isn't the first time he and his accomplice have done something like this in an effort to discredit Dems/libs to further a political agenda. He is hardly a novice scraping together resources to pay for his first film.

It's funny because all the DEEP INVESTIGATION proved is that if you hire people for low wages in the nonprofit field, they may on occasion act wrong.

Also of note: finding inept workers at McDonalds is also possible!

And I'm sure that we could look into any government agency and/or tax-paid agency that has low-wage workers and eventually find a few who are dumb and/or say dumb things.

I'm comfortable with the knowledge that lower paid workers in large-scale companies, both for-profit and non-profit, occasionally do stupid things, regardless of political alignments, why would I go out to prove what I already know?

It would be as big of a non-story as the ACORN one. "Company needs to pay better in order to get less idiots" isn't exactly shocking news.

$46k after the notable salary jump (previously around $25-30k), there more notably present number of incidents which involved new recruits.

Now that the wage is higher, and the requirements are stricter to reflect the pay increase, incidents are down. Funny how that works out.

Pretty much, yes. But saying that isn't as fun as claiming the entire system is rife with corruption that somehow involves the President and a sneaking socialist attack, so no one [on FOX] will say that.

ACORN never claimed to just do simple canvassing work. They do a large amount of things. They're an umbrella nonprofit that does their own thing but also helps fund many localized organizations as well.

Just because a company that helps another company is 501c3 does not mean everyone they work with an assist has to be.

If ACORN works with H&R Block to help people on their taxes, and H&R Block supports a specific politician, that doesn't mean ACORN can't be a 501c3 while helping H&R Block.

That's not how it works. A nonprofit can be approached by a politician to assist in something. Encouraging people to vote isn't partisan. The fact that ACORN encourages low-income people to register/vote and those people generally vote for Democratic Party candidates are not a result of ACORN compelling them to do so. ACORN doesn't discourage or refuse to assist people who would vote Republican.

And acknowledging that their actions had an impact in the election means what? They're partisan?

So really nonprofits shouldn't encourage to have poor people of color register to vote since poor people of color tend to lean toward the Democratic Party?

Date: 2009-09-23 02:59 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mylaptopisevil.livejournal.com
They didn't. They just registered people to vote, those people voted for the Democratic Party candidate, and thus they are taking credit for helping get the Democratic Party candidate in office.

I am a helpdesk technician. Stupidity is everywhere. Every level, every person, everyone on Earth does something stupid at one point or another and most of us, a hell of a lot more often than we're willing to admit. Of the human race, no phrase applies more universally and more globally than "people are just fucking stupid."

If I walked around with a video camera for three days and carefully edited out the parts with people not being stupid, not only would I still have hours upon hours of video, but people would watch it once and kill themselves immediately.

Yeah, keep aiming low. Meanwhile wall street makes off like bandits. Keep kicking the poor, teenage immigrant welfare mothers on drugs, that's the target.
