The majority of Americans voted for President Obama.

The majority of Americans are represented in the House and Senate by Democrats.

The majority of Americans support health-care reform.

To be more specific, the majority (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/08/20/new-poll-77-percent-suppo_n_264375.html) of Americans support the public option. To be even more (http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2009/09/the-public-option.html) specific, independents support it by a margin of 57-33.

Your side may be the loudest right now, but you are not the majority. Just sayin'.

Great links.

First link says that survey was commissioned by MoveOn, and add that "Earlier in the week, after pollsters for NBC dropped the word "choice" from their question on a public option, they found that only 43 percent of the public were in favor of "creating a public health care plan administered by the federal government that would compete directly with private health insurance companies."

Second link gives us the DailyKos poll.

This is auto-hypnosis, my friend. Not that I mind, though: the more you guys are out of touch, the better. So please don't look at more respected pollsters like Gallup (http://www.gallup.com/poll/122822/Americans-Sharply-Divided-Healthcare-Reform.aspx).

Like it changes something. Research 2000 can call itself "the Nation’s most unbiased and reliable research firm", but people will still be searching for reliable data in other places.

i.e. Gallup. For instance. But you can ignore it. Please, by all means. As I said, the more you are out of touch, the better.

Polls down, Republicans hijacked the message, and you still think the town halls riots were stupid. That's really good. I can only hope the rest of your lot share this opinion. Unfortunately, some progressives are less blind (http://www.salon.com/opinion/paglia/2009/09/09/healthcare/).

Well, being blind is sometimes comfortable. On the other hand, a lot of unpleasant surprises.

This debating technique looked rather appealing to me when I was in kindergarten. It kind of lost its attractiveness since I got acquainted with, er, less obvious tactics. You, though, seem to value it pretty high. No surprise: most of progressives are understandably very childish.
