Overall, this "cartoon" receives an F- for extremely deficient imagination and effort.

True.
But it is amusing seeing the kneejerk response. Like Dr Strangelove's alien hand syndrome (though they can't quite bring themselves to say whatever it is that's really biting them) sooner or later the compulsion to make the salute becomes too great.

From the outside, and given the circumstances both economic and political, Obama seems actually quite conservative: or certainly more conservative than he need be with both houses onside.

World without fucking borders. How about that? Can we have that? I'd like that. I can name six or seven major deities that actually talk about it in their scriptures too. Including our Nice Old White Guy In Flowing Robes here in the US. Let's all work toward that. Kay? Kay.

Cartoons like this one only work for the woefully ignorant - for conservatives it's rip-roaring great fun - like when babies get to play without their diapers and can piss freely.

I used to hate this guys posts, but now I hate them while also getting some insight into the complete insanity I see from the right these days. In their mind anything the U.S. does no matter what it is is good and anyone else is a communist/terrorist. Well, I guess it was never really that complex of a philosophy in the first place.

I mostly enjoy these kind of posts for the simple fascination of watching partisan lunatics work themselves into an aneurysm over the results of the election, and based precisely on what you pointed out out about their sophomoric worldview (the Good Guys vs. the Evildo'ers). I suppose it's their coping mechanism; i.e., to keep from slitting their own wrists before 2012.

are you realy trying to complain about a us cut in nuclear wepones stock piles?

the only country that comes close to the us in versitly of delvery device, or number of warheads, is russia. the us is limits to 2,200 nuclear war heads. lets be genruse, and say that obamas taken it down to a thousdon (i honstly have no idea how much his redused it by, as i cant get any hard and fast figures, the lowest figer wikipedia gave me being 2,200). you could pick a thousdon citys, towns, and hamlets in any given country, and still have pocket change. oh, and a nuclear winter.

so yea, reduseing nuclear wepones stock piles. you'll forgive me if i dont cry over it, but i dont see the problem when your messing around with sevrel thousdon times the dentontaon power of hiroshima.

more to the point, obama, and the us, and russia, and all the other signturys of the NPT accorded wepones holder status have an oblgation to elimnate there arsnals. this may not be posble, but reduction is.

And that's if they've really stopped using MIRVs which I'd put money they haven't. Dunno if my theory's provable or not though.

thay wont have stoped MIRVing. its a key device to ensure that the warhead will hit the target despite the theoritcal issue of ABMs. the warhead figer is appart from the delevery veical number, witch was the first figer i hit upon, although its spread across the us "trident" of delvery systems. bomber, land based ICBMs and submerine base missless. no nation exsept russia spends so much money on delvery systems, war heads, spread across so meny ways, when realy you only need one. submrean based delvery more or less garantees a missle launch in the event of an enemy first strike, and bombers are more or less obsleat as nuclear delvery systms, makeing there contuned use illgical, exsept to appese the US airforce, who want nuclear toys as much as anyone.

MIRVs were supposed to have been taken offline by the SALT II treaty back in the mmumbble 70s I think. But like I say, I dunno if they really have.

huh? i cant find a refrence to it in my book of geekery about nuclear wepons history, or the wiki artical, but that dosent mean anything. in anycase, it dosent matter as the US withdrew in the 1986.

well, treatys tend to have a million sub clauses, so it wouldnt surpises me if it were there, but on the other hand, i doubt that russia or carter would give up such a cheep force multiplier for warheads. dosent much mater XD

Beeeeee-cauuuuuse:

1) The world DEFINITELY NEEDS more nuclear weapons that no one - NO ONE - is insane or stupid enough to use EVER on ANYONE - not even the guy on the right in the picture. NO ONE.

2) Because it would have been better if the US just got out of the business of manufacturing anything at all and our entire workforce get jobs at Wal-Mart or the corner gas station selling Slim Jims to um... other clock-punchers, I guess. Also OH GOT NOT THE UAW!! HEAVEN FORBID THEY CONTROL ANYTHING!! MY GOD THOSE PEOPLE ARE SOSHUISTS!!!

3) Because ignoring the leaders of shall we say "problem countries" was working SO WELL for the past 8 years. SO WELL that Chavez secured power and became even MORE powerful, Iran started a nuclear program, Kim restarted his, and Putin named himself Prime Minister For Life. Yeah, ignoring and demonizing other world leaders is ALWAYS the way to go Mr. Nixon, so you definitely should NOT go to China.

4) "Apologized to terrorists;" um. Apologized to... the people of Iraq for fucking up their lives for more than 6 years now? So, everyone in Iraq and everyone in all the Middle East is a terrorist, right? That's really amazingly fucking stupid, which is what I've come to expect from you so I suppose I'm not surprised.

Here, let's have a musical interlude waiting for your reply:

Questions:

1) We 'cut' our nuclear arsenal? What does that vague bullshit even mean?

2) Handed GM and Chrysler over to the UAW? Huh. Because from where I was sitting, the unions got SCREWED in that deal (benefits lowers, jobs cut and lost across the board) while the rich executives made out well.

3) Posed for photo-ops with "thugs"... aka DIPLOMACY. Oh well, better to kill/invade everyone we don't like, right?

4) Apologized to "terrorists" for America's behavior? Apparently, according to this 'artist' the word "terrorist" refers to everyone else in the world who isn't an American. Kudos.

Thanks for another substantive take on today's complicated and difficult issues.

And, as corollary to #2, the banks and their executive teams didn't have to sacrifice as much the unions did and the bailout for the automakers was only a fraction of the bailout for the financial industry.

I thought that was Steve Rustad's work. The sad fact is this cartoon is somewhat palatable. You should have seen the one where he complains about the new roundabouts stopping buses from serving the Petaluma city country border. A valid cause to take issue with. He has a bus shooting over a roundabout and some dig at skateboarding youth (apparently a big problem in Petaluma- hint: it's not).

I have often wanted to take his place as cartoonist for the local paper. I will eventually. He's terrible.

Palatable to his other work. That point didn't come across well. Often his own style is too much to handle. Taking the MS Paint way out took a lot of courage for him.
