too bad the shameless and endless attacks on her family and personal life possibly led her to this outcome. i'd probably do the same thing to protect my poor daughters from further embarrassment and ridicule.

not for nothing, but if you're going to put not only yourself but your family in the public eye, you should be prepared to deal with the media - good, bad, and ugly. crying about how not everyone likes you and are being SO MEAN doesn't do much to bolster the public's confidence in her ability to be in the hot seat.

the Clintons did/do it, so i won't be shedding any tears for the Palins any time soon.
