socialism is public ownership of the means of production, generally through the mechanism of the state. When/if the state is democratic, that is democratic socialism. If it is totalitarian, aka Stalinism, it is authoritarian, undemocratic socialism.
Communism is the projected phase of history after socialism, when there are no more classes and when the state itself "withers away," to quote Engels. It is a classless, stateless society.
Like Unix, there are different flavors of socialism.
They are practically in each other's laps. I commute that far on a weekly basis. Enough already with all the little principalities and tiny miniscule pocket-countries in Europe that are smaller than an east-coast US State. It's a wonder we Americans even remember you guys exist.
In any socialist system there is going to be one company (per industry) that is "more equal" than the others. It's like Enron cheerleading carbon trading. They knew there was massive amounts of money to be made as the market maker.
This is about the obvious irony of the NR not being able to make up their mind between epithets. Which is he? Big business's whore or a no good pinko commie socialist? You can't have it both ways, little one.
Also 'zomg oblahma iz ur messiah lol' is so tired, get a new talking point.
I love how the lefties squeal when their god is defamed.
The complaint isn't that Obama was defamed, the complaint is in the poor quality of the defamation. The covers contradict each other. Its obvious they're just reaching for the latest spin.
Seriously. Better opposition would do everyone good. This is just lame.
To be fair, if scientists can find a way to make post-harvest waste into biofuels, the possible gains for society are tremendous. I'm not going to fault a company for deciding to go with one technology over another.
Now, if they simply dropped all the programs and stuck with oil, that would be a concern.

P.S. Aren't Mark Steyn and Jonah Goldberg pretty well-respected among the citizens of Wingnutistan?
