Ah Ann. I find her funny. She isn't really good at making a point, she is abysmal and defending her positions in the face of articulate debate, but she does know how to sell the image she's made of herself, and sell books, and I have to take my hat off to her as far as that goes.

She's a smart marketer, and she can grab a spotlight and hold it, usually because we are amused to see what she'll do next. She does make me chuckle however when she tries to debate a point, and gets taken for a ride.

Coulter has a simple formula that works very for her:

1) Figure out what anyone to the left of William F. Buckley might reasonably believe.

2) Declare the exact opposite to be true.

3) Lace with extreme invective.

4) Overwhelm the average reader and/or copy editor with more endnotes than can be reasonably vetted but many of which do not support her point, support an opposite point or are outright lies (classic example: deliberately mistaking a syndicated columnist in the New York Times for the news reporting).

5) Sell lots of books.

6) Declare that her book sales prove she is right.

7) Declare that liberal outrage at her invective proves that she is right.

8) Start over with another topic.

Oh I kind of do like her. She's entertaining, she makes me chuckle. There are a lot of right wing pundits that do get under my skin, but Ms. Coulter never has. I can't even imagine a way to take her seriously, and watching her reaction when anyone calls her out on her issues is high entertainment.
