The "larger issue" is that the number of Palestinians killed during the second Intifada, is 4,050, including 751 children, 236 women, 344 security men, 836 students and teachers and 325 militants, 50 people were killed during Jewish settlers' assaults on Palestinian residents in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, 1,922 people were from the West Bank and 2,128 from the Gaza Strip, adding they were killed from Sept. 29, 2000 to June 30, 2005.

Obviously there is always a good excuse for killing Palestinian children and women...

Palestinean kids need to learn to stop throwing stones. Some, many, are innocent and expressing their discontent, but it is not a constructive way.

There are a number of pro-palestinean documentaries out there which show the stone throwing, and yes, while some is harmless, some is not.

I am sure you have heard the story of David and Goliath. David uses the sling to defeat the giant. There are two morals of that story, the overlooked one is that the sling is still a powerfull weapon. Slings had long been used militarily in the same way that longbowmen were used by the English, though slingers are much easier to train and equip.

What it comes down to is that many of the kids "throwing rocks" are throwing rocks with 3-4 foot long slings capable of tossing good size chunks of concrete hundreds of feet. These slabs when they land do not harmlessly bounce of helmets or buildings.

Furthermore, the return fire experienced is relativly light, and usualy not aimed at the people throwing rocks. Most of the wounds are not center mass wounds (as would be expected with bullets aimed at hitting the people), and most of the bullets hit the ground first, as can be evidenced by watching the impact dust clouds in the videos.

While the actions of the Isreali's are not clean, they are very much, in most of these cases not at fault, though it would be nice to see them start carrying more ltl weapons that they could use in the situations, but that would require them to get close to the mobs, which might just be a death sentence.
