I think the idea that the government pays for contraceptives is a distortion of the truth that the government has mandated that group health insurance policies provide contraceptives with no co-pay. Since health insurance is becoming mandatory, that effectively means we all pay for contraceptives, which is the same thing (in theory) as the government paying for them.
