Jeez, I'm seeing that stupid "Christians in the military will be court-martialed!" meme everywhere now. Who the hell came up with that bullshit?

[identity profile] theweaselking.livejournal.com 2013-05-08 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Christians. "Lying for Jesus" is a sacrament.

[identity profile] greatbearmd.livejournal.com 2013-05-08 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Because their last big "intelligent design" meme fizzled out.

[identity profile] bonesnapdeez.livejournal.com 2013-05-08 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
lol there's some angry honkies out there.

[identity profile] harroldsheep.livejournal.com 2013-05-08 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)
the "Media Fact Checkers" one is so warped from reality, i swear i just saw pink unicorns give a little cherub Rush a half-n-half in my head.

[identity profile] dexeron.livejournal.com 2013-05-08 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
What is it with the constant "posing" of all the characters in "Day by Day?"

[identity profile] aviv-b.livejournal.com 2013-05-08 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
So much stupid packed into so little space.

[identity profile] yes-justice.livejournal.com 2013-05-08 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
All this shit over benghazi. Where the fuck were these people during fucking Iraq?

[identity profile] dexeron.livejournal.com 2013-05-08 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. It's so frustrating, though to try to explain this to folks like, say, my parents, who generally are moderate (but maybe track a little bit conservative) who hear about "Benghazi whistleblowers" being "silenced" by "the Obama administration" and who are testifying before congress, and to try to unpack what it's really about, who's actually driving these memes, and where they really come from. Especially when you can actually reference actual timelines of what really happened, and they're handwaved, because "that doesn't agree with the timeline MY source provides, so your's is just making excuses for Obama."

[identity profile] hardblue.livejournal.com 2013-05-08 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Obviously, this is why we need guns: to fight this anti-Christian, gay-loving tyranny.

[identity profile] fizzyland.livejournal.com 2013-05-08 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Jesus, someone decided to fill out the long form of the Butthurt Report.

I like Obama's jaunty hat in the first cartoon.

Oh, and this is the actual Chris Broussard quote that bothered people:

If you’re openly living in unrepentant sin, whatever it may be — not just homosexuality, adultery, fornication, premarital sex between heterosexuals, whatever it may be — I believe that’s walking in open rebellion to God and to Jesus Christ. So I would not characterize that person as a Christian because I don’t think the Bible would characterize him as a Christian.

– ESPN sportscaster Chris Broussard, commenting after Jason Collins, a Christian, became the first professional sports player to come out as gay.

LOL "Open Rebellion"

Religitards are hilarious.

[identity profile] fizzyland.livejournal.com 2013-05-08 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Anyone who takes themselves too seriously ends up being hilarious. It's funny when a basketball commentator gets all high and mighty about immoral behavior when about 70% of NBA players are adulterous deadbeat dads to packs of bastard children.

Don't forget rapists!

*first male active player in one of the four major American professional sports leagues

I'm not trying to belittle Collins; this is still a big deal. Just sayin', is all.

From the outside, these all seem pretty mad, in a clinically bonkers way.

Impressed at the levels of sheer insanity these show.

[identity profile] goumindong.livejournal.com 2013-05-08 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Laughing pretty hard at the "Seattle May Day Protests" one. You would have to be pretty fucking daft to not know about the anarchists around here and about how they are not for more government.

[identity profile] cinnamontoast.livejournal.com 2013-05-08 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought that one was pretty funny too. The problem is that the people who see that meme actually think those folks are like the civil rights era protesters. They really don't have a clue.
