Lethal injections for incurable diseases, and for old people? That seems to be what people are talking about. OOPS, looks like you have advances stomach cancer. Have some poison for a merciful painless death, you welfare-dependant parasite!

Sadly, I tend to think that having the option of a painless death is a good thing. If I developed an incurable degenerative disease that would cause unimaginable pain and suffering and destroy my quality of life entirely until I eventually succumb, I'd want to end it on my terms. In a way, it's a kind of protest. Suck it, cancer! Can't kill me if I kill myself first!

The thing most conspiracists seems to be protesting ius the idea of *enforced* lethal injections, regardless oif pantient wishes or prognosis.

Given that there are Hurricane Sandy conspiracies, I can see that a general theme of poor critical thinking has a certain mass of acceptability in society. However, when it comes to the ACA, private insurers remain at the core of our system so I don't see the reasoning that they will kill/allow to die any greater numbers than they are now.

Denying health care is likely to kill directly, this legislation, not so much.

See, to me "I could care less" implies that some level of care and concern, albeit small, is present. However, what people mean when they say that is really, "I couldn't care less"- they're already giving zero f&%ks about the issue as it is, so it is impossible to give fewer. They are incapable of caring less, so why do they use the word 'could' which implies otherwise?

Silly semantics issue I know, but that phrase annoys me.

Heh, me too. Originally it was sarcasm, is how it worked, and now it's been repeated so many times nobody says it the right way, but it still has the sarcastic meaning. Idioms are strange things.
