What difference does it make where he was? Should he have been in the war room? Wouldn't that signal prior knowledge that the attack was going to happen? (You know the tea partiers would be saying it did if he was). The President has the ability to direct his assets from anywhere in the world, his exact location is meaningless unless he himself is under attack.
Also, the suggestion that "noone seems to know where the President was" is absurd. Someone always knows where the President is. To suggest that he slipped free from his Secret Service agents, his staff and all the other people who follow him and...what?...flew to Libya and directed the attack on the embassy personally...is absurd. Someone knew where he was, probably hundreds of people knew where he was, it's just that insane tea party whackos aren't in the loop on the President's itinerary.
