Well...

1) We'll just leave as your opinion and note it. I don't really care one way or the other.

2) You are really not aware of Christian history or doctrine, are you? Christianity is based on the teachings of Christ...and other parts of the Bible. Murder is the unlawful taking of life. Killing is the lawful taking of life. God has said, "You shall not murder," not "You shall not kill." After all, God says killing in self defense is justifiable. Further, the wages of sin is death, so when God executes someone it is not murder, it is killing because it is a lawful taking of life. Remember, all people have sinned. Sin is the breaking of God's law. Therefore, God's execution is lawful. And the blessing makes the soldiers God's instruments on Earth, therefore their killing is lawful in the eyes of God.

Then you have the writings of St Bernard of Clairvaux, who set out why it is the holy duty to kill in the name of God, but that's getting into heretics and just war and so on.
