There are societies where breasts are completely non-sexual.

Jus sayin'.

That sounds kind of depressing, but
we must not be talking of the modern world.

I'm sure we would get along just fine if breasts were de-sexualized. Have you ever heard of "bubble-porn"? The imagination is what really does it for us, as humans, IMO.

(and the socieities I spoke of are modern, although perhaps not, modern in the sense of smartphones and PC's)

Perhaps, but I have thought that
imagination needs some real food,
a spark to catch fire.

This is not a pipe.

And while one must have a concept to work from, one need not be in touch with something "really-real"
Just think of hot cartoon characters

"If that is the case, then breasts will always be sexualized"

Well, then, I think that's not the case, since breasts are not always sexualized.

As I said, some societies have them non-sexual at all.

Is there a society where they are non-sexualised all the time? I know in plenty of cultures it's no big thing for women to not cover their breasts (it seems to be the norm in warm, nomadic cultures), but the ones I know enough to know about there's still a sexual element to them. But that's also wrapped up in the whole fertility element. Sex and breasts are both linked to reproduction, so there's a sexual element to breasts from that. The big difference with our culture is that we've managed to de-link sex from reproduction so the relationship between sex-reproduction-breasts has been broken, which makes everything much more confusing.

Just interested if you know anything specifically, I'm not trying to call bullshit or anything, I study anthropology for fun.
