Though, I have wondered if more life does not necessarily mean the kind of life we had in LJ's golden days. Maybe that's just past. People just want to tweet, post pics, and give status updates.
It's true - at one point this was all so novel. I remember having creationists argue that marriage had been created by G-D in the garden of eden and I kept insisting on historical sources like the Code of Hammurabi. Now, the evil atheist brigade has so little to do!
Youtube is awful at least for fact-facts. I've been arguing (i.e. belittling) people who believe in chemtrails and they always link to awful youtube videos that are supposed to UN testimony and turns out not to be. Yes, the government is spraying us with a blend of herbs and spices. Or spending billions trying to kill us off so slowly that we won't notice. Makes no sense whatsoever.
There's some arguments that conservatives (and libertarians too I suppose) could make that I can agree with. It's just that I am mostly liberal, so that's the way I lean most of the time. I actually classify myself as fiscal conservative and social liberal. I tend to not vote for more taxes unless I'm reasonably assured the money will go toward something I think is worthwhile, for example. Like I vote for school levies because yay schools! But I tend to not vote for things like the paving of our gravel roads because pfft, we just drive farm machinery over them anyway and if people want to live out here, they need to buy a 4X4 anyway so yeah. That kind of thing.
I really like it when it's cut and dried like that. And if I lose, I lose. I'll still pay the taxes that I didn't vote for because that's what ya gotta do. /shrug
The fact-facts that Youtube is good at is teaching you how to fix appliances! I fixed my old dishwasher and my new vacuum cleaner all by myself. And I never get tired of cat videos!
No worries, chum. I would never make it as right-wing.
I am educated, agnostic with pagan leanings, too misanthropic to join the 'group think' and do not much care for politics (odd, being we're in a politically motivated forum). I just like to troll them.
Amusingly, I do not fit in with the left wing types for many of the same reasons. I am educated, but not enough (I think my two associates ought to count as a bachelors, but no one else believes me), I own fire arms, I think public assistance should be a crutch not a lifestyle. There is no nobility in the suffering of being poor.
I like hanging out with you guys because you know how to give/take a joke.
I agree with almost everything here. Public assistance should be a crutch - which is a good reason to wean corporations off of welfare. Which they receive in amounts far exceeding any so-called lifestyle moochers.
