Jesus Christ people here are off their rockers. What the cartoon is saying is basically right. We generally ignore what's going on in the middle east, be it Palestinian deaths, Jewish deaths, Albanians, Sudanese, whatever they are. This didn't have to turn into some pro-Palestine or pro-Israel debate.
Agreed. And I think it extends beyond just the middle east. Before this past year, how much did you hear about various genocides in Africa? Does anyone remember the tsunami that killed nearly 200,000 people? I haven't heard about that humanitarian crisis in months.
C'mon you guys! CNN and FOX and MSNBC spends all their freaking time worrying about some stupid girl that got kidnapped in Aruba or, worse, Michael Jackson antics. If you believe that the Western news reflects the interests of Western society (which is a stretch, I admit, but holds a grain of truth) then we obviously care a lot more about Americans and American looking people than we do about those in third world countries.
