If he quits, his political career is presumably over, never to be resurrected again. I think he'd willingly sacrifice some respect for any chance of a victory here.

Some folks think the exact opposite....he's going to lose anyway. So if he quits now, he won't have the voters slamming the door in his face by coming in fourth place. Which would be pretty hard to overcome in getting donations in any future race. His career is over though. And he's really going off the deep end lately with his banter with another competitor (calling him gramps) and in a recent interview with foreign press reporters, berating them saying he thought he was in a Monty Python skit. That sort of thing was cute when he was on Fox News and talking shit to Sean Hannity, but these recent incidents just show him to be a really classless guy. He's a bully.

Yes, I remember seeing that bit with the Brit lady. I did get the vibe that he had slipped into emotional instability. You're probably right. I feel sorry for his wife. She is a top-flight woman, I take it, and it looks like she bet on a bad horse.
