Someone should send a AQ tee shirt to whomever made this meme.

When Bush decided to invade Iraq, you can bet that we became "The invading army of the infidels" to the middle east. Can you imagine what Americans would call an invading army stateside? If you think this is bad, then you are just ignorant of the implications of launching a full scale invasion any occupation of any country in the middle east.

Do you not find it odd that 22 Navy Seals were piled into a a mission 3 months after the Bin Laden raid? 7 Afghans who were not on the flight manifest were mysteriously switched out just before takeoff. Of course it is shot down by supposedly a "low-level" fighter, causing the largest loss of life of the elite unit in history. The bodies were cremated because they were "badly burned" despite eye-witnesses who say otherwise. The black boxes were mysteriously washed away in a flood. The government has told us that none of the commandos were on the Bin Laden raid, although there is evidence coming out that that's not true either. Several of the deceased were said to have created wills and gave odd goodbyes to their families shortly before the mission. This passes the smell test to you?

Before I respond to this, please tell me what do you think happened? Do you think Obama is a secret muslim who wants American soldiers dead? What are you suggesting? You are seriously coming off as a tinfoil hat wearer at this time.

I am very much able to critique the military and the government. What I am unwilling to do is make shit up.

I'm behind on this new right-wing meme, too. Is Obama supposed to have had a terrible secret about the bin Laden raid, and he needed to kill off the elite Team Six to bury the secret? What, that Osama bin Laden was not killed and is still alive??

[identity profile] hardblue.livejournal.com 2013-07-31 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure I'd feel terrible, and I'd probably wish we had stayed out of the fucking Middle East, but I don't think I can see a dark conspiracy theory. You tell Yes Peace that you don't know what happened, but what do you think possibly could be the dark story here? We cannot even see the angle.

For others who want to play along, here's a news story:

I don't know what happened

I agree. I'm pleased to hear you admit that.

I'm confident it's not what the official story is

Axiom: Those willing to kill are willing to lie.

That said, radical claims require radical evidence. You want to effectively protest? Collect that radical evidence.

[identity profile] dexeron.livejournal.com 2013-07-31 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know what happened but I'm confident it's not what the official story is.

If Obama is "lying" about this, there has to be a reason. What's the goal? Why is he lying? Or is it just more of the "anything bad that happens while Obama is president has to be part of some evil conspiracy" again?

But the people who were against the invasion

Yes, we're listening...

but now are ok with sending weapons to Mexican drug cartels

Nope, try again.

and jihadists around the globe,

Nope, try again.

sending drones to kill innocent people and American citizens

Nope, try again.

keeping Guantanamo Bay open

Nope, try again.

invading nations without congressional approval

Nope, try again.

holding prisoners without due process

Nope, try again.

are clueless.

You're probably running out at this point, so...

If you think there's a conspiracy here, connect the dots. Dots in and of themselves are not enough.
And if they were sold out by the Afghanis, would we necessarily know?

Who are these people who were against the invasion but are now for these other things? Not me.

As for what the Obama Administration has done, it's very disappointing that they have carried on the policies of the Bush Administration. Except for keeping Guantanamo Bay open - Obama wanted to move the detainees to the US and have them tried in civilian court; the Repugs said 'no.'

I don't know what happened but I'm confident it's not what the official story is.

Then that just makes you another Alex Jones.

Honestly, I don't give a shit how I come across to you.

Then don't be surprised when we don't believe a word you say.

[identity profile] dwer.livejournal.com 2013-08-01 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Obama fucks up plenty without having to create conspiracies out of thin air to find something to blame on him.

Enjoy your blind loyalty.

:-|

You are spreading a meme that lays the blame for soldiers deaths directly upon the feet of the American commander in Chief, and you are doing so with ZERO EVIDENCE and you accuse me of blind loyalty? The irony meter is broken dude.

You know that as soon as any troop deaths occur, al-Q is out there trying to either take credit or blame the USA, right?

I chose my words purposefully.

This is an issue you could actually have my ear on, ya know, if you had any evidence whatsoever.

Do you not find it odd that 22 Navy Seals were piled into a a mission 3 months after the Bin Laden raid?

Not at all, nor do I pretend to be an expert on personal deployment choices.

7 Afghans who were not on the flight manifest were mysteriously switched out just before takeoff.

Yes. Its true that the Afghans are difficult to trust, but that should be expected in any occupation. Happened in Nam. Happened in Iraq. Happens. What are you suggesting? Obama ordered the swap?

Of course it is shot down by supposedly a "low-level" fighter, causing the largest loss of life of the elite unit in history.

I would have presumed that an equipment failure crash, but that is only because its so frequently our own fault. But I suppose someone could have gotten lucky. It happens, just rare.

The bodies were cremated because they were "badly burned" despite eye-witnesses who say otherwise.

Afghan "eye witnesses", I presume? Yeah, well, now we're back into making shit up territory.

The black boxes were mysteriously washed away in a flood.

What is the rate of black box recovery in war zones for those birds? Don't know? Then why act like an expert?

The government has told us that none of the commandos were on the Bin Laden raid

Is the government an autonomous entity?

although there is evidence coming out that that's not true either.

First report I read, from an article source at antiwar.com, was that they were part of Seal Team 6.

Several of the deceased were said to have created wills and gave odd goodbyes to their families shortly before the mission.

Standard operating procedure since uh, the Roman's left instructions on how to care for their families and fields.

And none of this is anywhere close to the evidence needed to accuse the president of treason.

You know, EVERY time my mother was deployed, in Desert strike, Desert Storm, and early in the war, she made wills and gave my sister and I goodbyes. Why is that so odd? Always she worried This would be the time she was sent out not to come back. Every time she made sure my sis and I would be able to deal with her things and move on...

Why is it so weird that a young gi, with a younger family, would do the same?

[identity profile] lux-roark.livejournal.com 2013-07-31 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
My husband had a will drawn up free while he was in the military when he was sent to Afghanistan. I think it's common for them to do it, and he was only 21 at the time.

I followed the story. I am against the war and fully believe that those humans who are willing to kill are also willing to lie. That said, there aint no there there.

Afghanistan does have many floods due to unmanaged waterways.
