It could be quite interesting to see how the victim's ethnicity influences the probability of the shooter's ethnicity.

For instance, I'm under the impression that some ethnic groups are more likely to be shot by police. If the police aren't ethnically representative of the general population, that's a potential skew right there.

Also, I'd imagine that some ethnic groups being over-represented in lower socio-economic groups may skew the numbers.

I'm not arguing whether or not there is variation in ethnicity and gun violence. Obviously there will be. There's plenty of variation between countries, let alone within them.

I'm arguing that if you get shot it hardly matters to the victim what the ethnicity of the trigger-puller is.
