If I have to recant a joke, clearly things have devolved further than I thought.

I'm glad you're agreeing that you were incorrect to compare Palin to Libertarianism as you were to compare [livejournal.com profile] blueduck37 to Brad Pitt (sorry, [livejournal.com profile] blueduck37! I am sure you are still a very lovely person).

Well, no. I still contend that Palin is the closest we'll see.

Because, you know, Ron Paul totally didn't run for President in last year's primary.

He also wasn't a viable candidate.

If every conservative/Republican in America who claims to be a libertarian had voted for him, he would have been (and, btw, he did kick the ass of 9/11 masturbator Rudy G, who was at point considered the nomination frontrunner).

Your logic is akin to that of Max Baucus saying he can't vote for a public option because it doesn't have enough votes to pass. But it doesn't have enough votes to pass because Max Baucus won't vote for it. And Max Baucus won't vote for it, because etc etc.

Best case scenario per Gallup data is that maybe 20% of the nation is libertarian. That ain't enough.

Because voting for a Senate bill is the same as a state-by-state primary system.

It's okay. I've probably got more of a Wil Wheaton look going on.
