On every channel....but not Fox.

[identity profile] deadpansev.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 01:13 pm (UTC)(link)
He is on fox as well, only he is shown with horns and a trident on that channel.

[identity profile] spamwarrior.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 12:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I know you all couldn't handle a few hours one morning without your bewb tube. What did you do with yourselves, anyways?

[identity profile] mylaptopisevil.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
it's funny because Obama's twitter (http://twitter.com/BARACKOBAMA) is a glorified press release RSS feed, but Republican politicians/talking heads like McCain (https://twitter.com/SenJohnMcCain) and Gingrich (http://twitter.com/Newtgingrich) actually use theirs. Palin (AKGovSarahPalin) used hers, too, before she quit, like a quitter, for America.

[identity profile] hoboclown.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 01:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I always enjoy when "Obama" updates his Facebook with some notice about what he's doing or when to see a speech of his. The comments are lit up by people who think they're actually messaging the President.

[identity profile] telemann.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL

[identity profile] telemann.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Quitter for America, LOL!

[identity profile] chasovschik.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 12:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you remember those jokes about Khruschev and Brezhnev? "Газету открыл - там его речь, телевизор - опять его речь, радио включил - снова он, вот я и побоялся бритву включать!"

[identity profile] pacotelic.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 01:04 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a good one. Конечно, средства массовой информации гораздо больше степени, than in the 70s, так что вы можете слушать кого вы хотите, чтобы сейчас.

[identity profile] chasovschik.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, there's a lot difference... still...

[identity profile] annainthecity.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah and that would be kinda similar if we had only 3 channels like we did in the good ole' motherland and they were all government run.

[identity profile] chasovschik.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Who knows. Have you heard those hints about newspapers bailout?

[identity profile] annainthecity.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, and how does that relate to the Sunday media blitz, exactly?

[identity profile] chasovschik.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
This relates to state-controlled media. Step by step, you know. Even Putin didn't restore state control over media at once, it took him about three or four years.

Disclaimer: I'm not saying that's exactly what we have here. You guys always take things too literally. No, it's not even close - yet. But I don't like the trend.

[identity profile] annainthecity.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, the communist boogie man is coming, run for the hills!

This relates to state-controlled media.

No. It doesn't. There's no such trend in any way shape or form.

You mean the one proposed by the newspapers?

[identity profile] chasovschik.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
In USSR all dramatic changes like raising the food prices etc. always were proposed by workers of some well-known factory. :)

1. It's funny because he's a jittery Luddite.

2. It's funny because this is a stereotypical Fox Noise viewer, complete with stereotypical intellect.

[identity profile] mylaptopisevil.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
you mean your phone doesn't jump around making tweeting noises when someone is on twitter?! BUT IT HAS A BIRD AS A LOGO. THIS IS LIKE WHEN WE HAVE TO RECITE THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ANYTIME SOMEONE BOOTS UP AMERICA ONLINE BECAUSE IT HAS THE WORD AMERICA.

[identity profile] dwer.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
it's funny because somehow a president who makes appeals to the public at large is bad NOW, but back in 2001-2008, it was JUST PEACHY.

[identity profile] new-wave-witch.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It's funny because one appearance on Letterman is suddenly ballooned into "every channel."

[identity profile] new-wave-witch.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
that's tv news for you. not really surprising. i guess that's why including news channels in the "every channel" bit isn't surprising to me either. i kind of expect them to talk about the president.

[identity profile] lafinjack.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
So it's the same hard-hitting journalism used in Bush interviews?
