This shit just breaks my heart. Without my abortion years ago, I would not be where I am today...with a house, a career and success. I'd most likely be living in subsidized housing "mooching off the government tit" as they like to say so often.

Thankfully I had the opportunity to break the 4 generation long trend that's kept the women in my family uneducated and living in poverty.

It fucking boggles my mind that Republicans force you to carry an unwanted pregnancy you can't afford then shame you and keep you in poverty by denying any assistance for the repercussions of the very thing they forced you to do.

I know exactly what you mean. I doubt that I would have been able to graduate college but for the availability of safe, legal abortion in New York (this was about a year pre-Roe) and my ability to scrape up money for airfare.

No one would should have to go through the crap the Repugs want to put women through to safely terminate an unwanted pregnancy. Those holier-than-thou forced birthers make my blood boil.
