Mod post

So I guess having two absentee moderators is pretty much worthless. I'm taking nominations to add another couple to the list. I apologize for all but abandoning LJ.

If I dropped everyone who went after me personally, there'd be no one left to debate with. I have a very bright line, that's all.

It's probably telling that the amount of insults levied on various people here - including myself - have been tolerated by our mostly-absentee mod staff here, and that many of those same offenders are then nominated by their peers in part because that's what they'd prefer. To your credit, you've essentially avoided that sort of nastiness and appear to be able to see through it - that would make you a much better moderator on the merits alone than those who encourage and take part in the nonsense.

It's probably telling...

As long as one's psychologizing about what the members of this community wants - because that's exactly what you're doing here, at the same time you're complaining about being psychologized by this community's members - we might ask what the apparent consensus preference for Yes_justice would suggest.

Say what you like about the "nominations" of me or Malasadas (or merely insinuate, as you'd prefer), I think it's unfair to Yes_justice to lump his general commendation here with the notion that this community's nominations suggest a preference for "the amount of insults levied on various people here." As far as I've seen, Yes_justice hasn't participated in those kinds of attacks, and I haven't seen him approve of them, either. So while your criticism may have some merit vis-a-vis, in particular, Unnamed and Deborah's suggestion of me (I think the nominations of Malasadas make more sense, since he's generally demonstrated a mature approach to moderation that's shown a willingness to use discipline to control flamewars, even if he's otherwise made a habit of antagonizing you specifically (especially by assiduously ignoring you)), it's disrespectful to both Yes_justice and this community to make his nomination really all about you and the way you feel you've been mistreated.

I don't know how many times you expect to be able to tell the members of this community, "Fuck all of you, you miserable cretins," without it coming back to you.
