Can we try NOT to choose people who won't hesitate to give people the boot if they disagree with them? Malasadas thinks I'm sick for being glad Joan Rivers is dead so I can imagine I'll be booted out of this community the minute she's on board. I vote for Yes Justice and Oslo.

I'm fine with my list of nominees. I disagree with you on that point. Malasadas is an excellent mod in RAC. And I'm also very sorry to say, I couldn't disagree with you more about Joan Rivers; while she may have said some tacky things, she was no homophobe. And I thought your comment rejoicing at her death was pretty callous, and in poor taste.

Joan Rivers didn't hesitate to use the term "gay" disparagingly in reference to President Obama, and she also referred to Michelle Obama as a "tranny." The women herself was not known for her good taste, so I don't feel any guilt whatsoever for saying I wasn't the only one glad she had "bit it," which is hardly "rejoicing at her death." It's not like I was running around saying "Yay! Yay! The bitch is dead!" Now THAT would be rejoicing, but since my 93-year-old mother was facing death that same day, I can't say I'm not glad that my mother didn't die instead of Joan Rivers.

I gave Joan Rivers as much respect and good taste as I'm sure she would have given our president, had he died.
