Just because it doesn't work, doesn't mean we shouldn't keep trying, right?

The Texas GOP Is Thinking About Endorsing 'Ex-Gay Therapy'
Here's what the draft says now about LGBT people:
Homosexuality must not be presented as an acceptable alternative lifestyle, in public policy, nor should family be redefined to include homosexual couples. We believe there should be no granting of special legal entitlements or creation of special status for homosexual behavior, regardless of state of origin.

Also, equal rights are NOT special rights.

What is the origin of the gay hate by Republicans? Is it the Bible? Does the New Testament even mention homosexuality at all? (It may, I am not sure.) I know that the New Testament mentions non-violence, turning the other cheek, peace, etc., A LOT, but that doesn't seem to get any play in Republican circles. Is the origin something else maybe? Some treatise on how homosexuality will destroy society/culture? I just don't get why homosexuality is so threatening to them. What exactly is the risk posed here?

So sad. Still haven't been out of the trees long enough. We'll make it, one day. I have faith in humankind.
