Despite the fact that I'm humoring your weak minded behavior, I don't really give a shit what you think about me. My social interactions serve me just fine, but you keep trying to shame me instead of dealing with your own discomfort when it comes to initiating a nonchalant social exchange with a complete stranger. And, I'm sure it's safe to assume you don't do this with members of the same sex. So, why is it when you introduce romantic desires that it changes the social dynamic of the interaction?

It doesn't, except maybe on an individual level where a person has anxiety. But, that's only a factor of perception. Change your perception and it all goes away. In other words, just because some douchebag treats women in a crude manner, doesn't mean he's actually being threatening. He's being an idiot because he doesn't know better.

And while I agree that other men, friends, or family members should tell that guy, "Hey, wtf are you doing?"

I don't agree with associating all that idiotic behavior with rape. That actually undermines the severity of rape claims. And, it's also not good for women to falsely associate their regrets and bad decisions with rape claims.

So, taking all that idiotic, impulsive behavior from both men and women and associating that with rape takes all the real victims of real acts of aggression and throws them under the bus, and I guess in this case it's the short bus.

So, no, I'm not about to cut off half the populace from having a casual exchange because of fear. Rather, develop a sense of humor about the idiotic behavior instead of alienating half the populace with sensationalist claims.

There are real victims of rape out there. And you're not helping resolve those issues by falsely associating men and a healthy desire to meet women with predatory behavior, nor are you helping resolve those issues by enabling women to hide behind rape claims because they don't want to take responsibility for their actions.

We have a real dilemma here. Because one hand you have real victims that are afraid to say something -- both men and women. And, on the other hand, you have various manipulative people crying wolf and putting on this song and dance to gain social status.

And, unfortunately, you're one of 'em.
