I can honestly say that Carter was the least terrible president of my lifetime. Certainly the only one who was not manifestly evil. The only decent one. He made many mistakes but I would take him over anyone else who's been president before of since. Evolved humans will look favorably on him in the distant future.

He was perhaps the most pacific president of the
modern era. When he went abroad, he was focused
more on human rights and ending torture than he
was on bombing other peoples.

But those helicopters broke down!

Almost happened again on the OBL raid. Had there been better luck for Carter on the Iranian hostage rescue mission, he would have had a much better chance at re-election I think.

This bright eyed young patriot was pretty shocked by the lack of patriotism shown in the aftermath of the equipment failure.

He would have nailed the re-election, were it not for others ruining his October Surprise (http://www.consortiumnews.com/2010/050610.html).

Thanks for that link. I have a distant memory of that, sort of like Nixon sabotaging the Paris peace talks with the South Vietnamese to have a cease-fire declared. Johnson was considering charging Nixon with treason he was so angry.

All of them! At the same time, almost!

Weird. . . .

The end must be near. We agree on this.
